We went to see the legendary Chas & Dave last night at Cliffs Pavilion in Southend. Great show! Two hours of rock ‘n’ roll, boogie woogie and hits galore. The first half was a compilation of old songs from their past, and in the second they played most of their hits from the 70s and 80s.
Who can forget classics such as Gertcha, Rabbit, Margate, Snooker Loopy, London Girls and the fantastic Ain’t No Pleasing You?! Chas’s son Nik plays the drums for them these days. Just the three of them, but they sure can belt out a tune!
Glad we went.
I took Microsoft up on its free upgrade. Big mistake! I’m sure it’s great and all that. But for blokes of a certain age, there is a certain familiarity with old things. I’m sure the new system is super, but I couldn’t get on with it. Couldn’t even work out how to set the home page. Now, I’m sure for most of my pupils that would be a piece of cake. Not for me.
I did stick with it for a few days – honest I did. But in the end reverted back to Windows 7. I intend to stick with it until it dies, goes to heaven and I have no choice to upgrade!
PS How do you turn of that irritating pop up that offers you the free upgrade? Answers on a post card to Ray’s Driver Training at the usual address!
